Amerikazentrum Hamburg e.V. is a non‑profit cultural institute created in 1997 to carry forward the work of Hamburg’s former Amerika‑Haus after that institution closed. Operating from a riverside venue near the city centre, it promotes German‑US diplomacy through language courses and public programs on politics, culture and media. Recent work has pivoted toward information quality: in April 2023 the centre hosted a two‑day Media Literacy & Disinformation Program – part of the BEST Fulbright series – featuring US and German journalists and scholars speaking on propaganda, fact-checking and the impact of online falsehood.
