Actionable Sense-making Tools for Curating and Authenticating Information in the Presence of Misinformation During Crises

This NSF Convergence Accelerator Track F project aimed to develop AI-driven, personalized sensemaking tools to help “decision-makers manage high-volume, rapidly changing information and combat misinformation during crises, ensuring reliance on authenticated, high-quality content for effective governance and decision-making.”

By integrating advanced techniques like content analysis and knowledge graphs, the project team “will create prototype tools that curate credible information, guided by ethnographic input from community stakeholders, including government and industry partners. The tools will be validated using real-world crisis scenarios and tested in a microworld environment to enhance robustness and train decision-makers in settings like school districts and public health, drawing on a multidisciplinary approach spanning computer science, and social sciences.”
