Established in 2017, the Cyber and Information Domain Service is the Bundeswehr command responsible for military cyber operations, information security and electronic warfare. Headquartered in Bonn, it operates under the Federal Ministry of Defense. A 2019–2022 Concept Development and Experimentation (CD&E) research project titled Propaganda Awareness sought to integrate “propaganda awareness” into military training and operations, contributing to national cyber-security strategy and force resilience (Bundestag Drucksache 20/5854). The command has also been linked in reporting to data-analysis and monitoring programs employing AI tools. Its stated mission is to safeguard Germany’s ability to act in the digital and information domain.
